Blue Tara
Blue Tara is a blue aspect of Green Tara, the Buddhist goddess considered herself to be a female bodhisattva. This aspect is concerned with wind, bringing the wind of the heavens into all of life. Her blue swirls are like beneficent windstorms, blowing away our illusions and clearing the way for consciousness to rise.
The face is handwoven in Merrill's Zati method. Blue Tara's face is woven of handspun yarn dyed with wild indigo. Her headdress is hand-felted merino wool, sculpted into folds and swirls. There are seven swirling storms, including the one rising above all at the peak.
