Balance: Wisdom of the EarthLoom Series
Balance is a bold graphic statement: a face half black and half white, of handspun island wool yarn. Framing the face is a hand-felted headdress of merino wool dyed with madder roots to a vivid red-orange. The face is further picked out by a wreath of handmade coral-colored antique glass beads.
The face is handwoven in Merrill's Zati method. As a being in the Wisdom of the EarthLoom Series, Balance embodies the reality of difference in the world, and the need to balance our views and our approach to others, and to balance knowledge with love, always.
