Your Journey Loom
Assembling
Assembling your Journey Loom should be easy, as there are only seven parts! There are just two items we'll mention.
First, the angled pieces make an upside-down V. They're exactly identical pieces, and they will fit together in two ways. If you put them together and they make a narrow V, hold on to one, lift the other and rotate it 180 degrees from its original position, and put them back together. Now you'll have a wide V shape. Put a short bolt through the point of the V and place it in the center hole in the top beam (the wider one with angled ends). The lower ends of the angled sticks will take the two longer bolts.
Second, when you assemble your Journey Loom™ leave the wingnuts loose until all seven small bolts are in place. This will let the holes match up naturally. The holes are designed to have a little play in them, as wood shrinks and swells due to changes in humidity, temperature, etc. If you tighten the wingnuts as you put them in, the remaining holes may seem as if they don't match up. Just loosen the wingnuts and place all the bolts. That should let them find their natural alignment.
If you have loosened the hardware and they still just do not line up, please call us at 207-326-9503.
