Introduction to Weaving on the 7-Stick Journey Loom

Discover the portability, simplicity and beauty of the 7-stick Journey Loom. Easy to warp, easy to weave on, the Journey Loom can be taken apart with your weaving on it, carried in your case and reassembled without losing a step! We will examine: planning your weaving, warping, simple tapestry techniques, beading and sculptural weaving. Materials fee: $10.00

Weaving an Amulet

Weaving an Amulet on the Journey Loom provides you with an experience and a finished weaving. The Amulet, used throughout history to call on ones higher resources, is the first of the seven keyforms discussed in Susan's new book, ZATI The Art of Weaving a Life. Weaving the Amulet can be a simple weaving project or a deeper exploration of how we weave our inner and outer lives together. Material fee: $10.00

Weaving the Language of the Goddess

The Goddess is a presence as ancient as humankind as well as a current symbol of the feminine divine. In the first part of the session we will explore Goddess culture throughout history, Goddess symbolism in kilim patterns, pottery and wall friezes, and we will identiy universal symbols and their variations. The second part of the workshop involves weaving symbols on a small tapestry loom, which will encompass planning your weaving, warping, tapestry techniques for the portable loom, and designs for weaving patterns. Materials fee: $10.00
