The Weaving a Life Wedding Loom™ is a Story Loom™ used in a unique way to add richness, meaning and beauty to any wedding. The Wedding Loom is hand-crafted with care in Maine of sustainably-harvested Maine cedar for use indoors or out. At a wedding or reception, it is a beautiful focus of well-wishes, prayers, keepsakes, and memories. Using the simplest weaving imaginable, the guests add strips of fabric from the groom's childhood clothing, photos, messages, perhaps one of the bride's childhood hair ribbons, awards, and strands of hand-made beautifully-colored paper (available from Weaving a Life) for writing prayers, wishes, and congratulations for the bride and groom.
An indoor loom that allows up to four people to weave at once, two on each side, the Wedding Loom is a great favorite with all ages. It creates a unique feeling of sharing and closeness among friends and family. The completed weaving is an heirloom, focusing all the love, prayers, and joys of the occasion in a beautiful wall hanging to treasure throughout the couple's lives. The Wedding Loom is appealing to children, inspiring for adults, and accessible for people with disabilities.
Very easy to string with natural jute or cotton vertical strings called "warp threads" (Step by step photos here), the Wedding Loom is simple to weave on and a wonderful, meaningful experience for all.
